Credits & licences

The map: OpenStreetMap#

Every building, road, railway, wood, field and town in the game comes from OpenStreetMap. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). The attribution is shown in the game and has to stay there.

The coastlines at the regional zooms are osmdata.openstreetmap.de's land polygons, also OpenStreetMap data under the ODbL.

The list of every town on Earth (the search, and the towns you sell to) is built from OpenStreetMap's places.

The globe: Natural Earth#

The globe and the continental map (land cover, ice, lakes, rivers, borders, urban areas, the main roads and railways), and the countries used to decide which side of the road a place drives on and how its buildings look, come from Natural Earth, including Natural Earth II. Natural Earth is in the public domain; the game credits it anyway.

The war island#

The war island is made up: generated as map data by the game's own tools. Any resemblance to a real place is chance.

Fonts#

The game and this wiki use three fonts, each under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; the licence texts are served with the wiki (fonts/*-OFL.txt):

  • Space Grotesk, for headings and numbers;
  • Space Mono, for labels and anything measured;
  • Chivo, for everything else.

This wiki#

Built from the game's own data every time the game is published, so every price, size and statistic here is the one the server runs on.
